At Ron’s Original Bar & Grille, we’ve always believed that great food starts with the best ingredients. As we move toward our goal of becoming a completely seed oil-free restaurant in 2025, we’re taking a closer look at every dish we serve—and that includes something as essential as salad dressings.

Today, we’re excited to share that all of our salad dressings are now completely seed oil-free! We’ve worked hard to create healthier, cleaner, and more delicious dressings using only the best ingredients, because we’re dedicated to the health of our customers. From now on, when you drizzle a fresh, flavorful dressing over your salad at Ron’s Original, you can be confident that you’re getting only the good stuff—no seed oils, no artificial additives, just wholesome, heart-healthy fats.

Why We’re Saying Goodbye to Seed Oils in Our Dressings

You may have heard the buzz about seed oils in recent years, and we want to explain why we’re making a conscious effort to eliminate them from our menu. Seed oils (like soybean, canola, sunflower, and safflower oils) are commonly found in processed foods, including many commercial salad dressings. These oils are often highly refined and contain excessive amounts of omega-6 fatty acids, which, when consumed in large quantities, can contribute to chronic inflammation in the body—a key driver of many modern health issues, such as heart disease, diabetes, and autoimmune conditions.

Not only are seed oils linked to inflammation, but the refining process can also create harmful byproducts, including trans fats, which are widely known to negatively affect cholesterol levels and cardiovascular health.

As a restaurant that genuinely cares about our customers’ health, we couldn’t continue using these oils in our food. Instead, we’ve turned to better alternatives that not only taste better but also nourish the body.

The Healthier Alternatives We Use in Our Dressings

We’ve swapped out seed oils for our house made 100% cold-pressed avocado oil mayo and extra virgin olive oil in all of our salad dressings. Here’s why we think these healthier oils are the perfect fit for our dressings:

1. Cold-Pressed Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is one of the healthiest oils available, and it’s the star of our in-house mayo (which we use in many of our dressings). Cold-pressed avocado oil is made by simply pressing the ripe fruit without the use of heat or chemicals, preserving its natural nutrients. The result is an oil that’s rich in monounsaturated fats, which are known to promote heart health and support balanced cholesterol levels.

Avocado oil is also high in vitamin E and antioxidants, which help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. It has a mild, buttery flavor that blends perfectly into our dressings, adding creaminess and richness without the need for unhealthy oils.

2. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Olive oil, especially extra virgin olive oil, is another heart-healthy fat that has been widely praised for its many health benefits.
